DEREHAM MEMORIAL HALL:
Recently reopened after a £2.3m refurbishment the hall is set to become a major regional entertainment venue sitting as it does smack bang in the middle of the county in a town with Free parking! We are proud to be hosting in concert here MUD MORGANFIELD on Thursday 9th July
THE PLOUGH AND FURROW:
Residing in the cellar of the old Corn Exchange Building, now the town cinema, The Plough has a significant distinction of being in the building in which Jimi Hendrix played in 1967. He apparently managed to put his guitar through the roof! This venue, right in the middle of the town has a reputation for being innovative and popular with the younger clientele. Something rather special is going to be going on here so keep checking the site for more details!
THE RED LION:
Very central traditional pub. Small and cosy guaranteeing a welcome from either Leslie or manager Trevor and an ideal starting point either to the festival or to explore the town. Parking is in the Market Place but this is limited.
THE GEORGE HOTEL:
After recent refurbishments the owners are establishing The George as far more than a successful pub offering outstanding food. They are focused on returning The George to the centre of Dereham town life where you can experience a real sense of community spirit. Their manager has a wealth of experience, with courteous bar and waiting staff will be ready to welcome discerning blues fans to a feast of mellow blues whilst the head chef and his team will tempt you with the local produce and high quality standard of food. http://www.thegeorgedereham.com/
THE CHERRY TREE:
Recently back on the live music circuit thanks to Sarah, Morgana and Gordon this centrally situated traditional pub has lots of character and knows a good band as well as a good pint. Free house, Green King Molson Corrs. They will also be providing a Barbecue from 2-9 pm on Sunday 14th Check them out on Facebook. They have their own private spaces located in a large municipal shoppers car park.
THE KINGS HEAD:
Good food, freehouse, own car park and accommodation. Easy walking distance from the high street and shopping precinct, this is one of the larger venues with a large covered area in a large pleasant enclosed beer garden. Manager Geoff can provide a marquee for events in good weather or the function room if the sky is not as blue as the festival music. The Bull is a traditional 18th century pub with a welcoming atmosphere. It attracts families, locals and shoppers who come in for the value for money food offers and competitive prices on a wide range of drinks. THE ROYAL STANDARD:
A real traditional pub with a rich history and just off the town High Street . Serves food. DEREHAM RAILWAY STATION (MID NORFOLK RAILWAY):
What... a station? Yes, with a difference. The imaginative hard working team that have built up this popular tourist attraction from a derelict Beeching casualty are frequent hosts to jazz events on the trains and on the platform they have hosted theatrical productions. Performances will be timed to coincide with the arrival of the locomotives from Wymondham. A chance to experience blues in an exciting and unique environment. THE RAILWAY TAVERN:
Unique pub serving some of the best fish and chips in town. Debbie and Manager David also ensure that they cater for families with a play area and marquee. They have organised a mini beer festival with 4 to 6 guest ales on tap, a barbeque and a Bouncy Castle. A unique socially orientated pub catering for families, but because The Raliway Tavern management love their bands and know whats what, the pub is also popular with scooter and motorbike enthusiasts as well as live music fans.
HEROE'S SPORTS BAR:
A great friendly fun bar with a reputation for great fundraising events. Heroes is an upstairs bar with a tardis feel as it's much bigger inside than it appears on the outside, providing plenty of room for folk who like to express their enjoyment of live blues through dance! This is Heroe's first Blues Festival and we're are sure it's not going to be the last!
